The 15th Annual Blackbeard Pirate Festival takes place on the Hampton waterfront this June with a kickoff gala at the Crowne Plaza Hampton Marina Hotel. Look forward to a weekend of live music, fireworks, street parades, and great food.
Don't miss the Blackbeard Pirate Festival this June for a few days of swashbuckling fun under the sun. This year's event includes a children's camp and a re-enactment of Blackbeard's final battle. It's the perfect opportunity to spend a long weekend in Hampton with the family and enjoy the sights and sounds of 18th-century private life along the Hampton waterfront.
The event celebrates Hampton's maritime heritage and commemorates the demise of Captain Edward Teach, also known as Blackbeard the Pirate.
Last year, the Blackbeard Festival in Hampton, VA, was named the third best pirate festival in North America by USA Today and attracts visitors from around the country. This year marks 15 years of celebrations in Hampton and will once again include a pirate invasion of downtown Hampton where attendees can interact with a Blackbeard impersonator and meet more than 100 authentically costumed pirate actors.
Enjoy live musical entertainment, a fireworks show, arts and crafts displays, and pirate scene re-enactments throughout the weekend. Tall ships and private sail boats will be decked out in pirate gear as they make their way around the waterfront all weekend long. The fun begins on Friday night, May 30, at the Crowne Plaza Hampton Marina Hotel which will be hosting the 15th Annual Grand Pirates Ball, a black tie and period attire event. The weekend concludes with the firing of the cannons.
