ACC is one of nine major commands of the United States Air Force, providing frontline combat airpower to American war-fighting efforts.

Because Langley is an active military base, civilian visitation is not permitted at most times, however the gates do open to the public one weekend every spring for the much-anticipated Airpower over Hampton Roads. A full two and half days of thrilling flight demonstrations, aerobatics, parachute demonstrations, food, music and more, Airpower over Hampton Roads brings spectators from all over the country.

Since 2005, the highlight of the air show has been the pulse-pounding routines choreographed and executed wonderfully by the F-22 Raptor Demo Team. The only show team in the world to fly the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor, this sensational squad truly stands up to the best of the best.
